CALL FOR PAPERS Casys'09

9th International Conference CASYS’09 on Computing Anticipatory Systems, August 3-8, 2009, HEC-ULg, Liège, Belgium, organized by the ASBL CHAOS

CALL FOR PAPERS

Scope of CASYS’09

The scope of CASYS'09 will be oriented to theoretical developments and applications in the modelling and computing of anticipatory systems in any fields of natural and artificial systems.

Following the definition of Daniel M. Dubois: A computing anticipatory system is a system that computes its current states in taking into account its past and present states but also its potential future states.
Daniel M. Dubois introduced the concepts of Strong and Weak Anticipation:

Strong anticipation refers to an anticipation of events built by or embedded in a system.

Weak anticipation refers to an anticipation of events predicted or forecasted from a model of a system.

Potential authors are invited to submit a paper to the conference CASYS’09.

General Information: the official conference language will be English. No simultaneous translation will be provided.

Important Dates:

DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACTS: APRIL 10, 2009

DEADLINE FOR DRAFT PAPERS: JUNE 1, 2009

Draft papers, received after JUNE 1, 2009, will not be considered for a Best Paper Award.

I. REGISTRATION

Potential authors and participants are invited to fill the pre-registration form to be on the mailing list of CASYS'09, and to submit a tentative title of a paper: as soon as possible.

All participants and authors of accepted and invited papers are asked to fill the registration form to the conference CASYS'09: for the JULY 15, 2009.
